To 13 Hertz

The roots of “To 13 Hertz” series goes back to my studies of organisms and mechanisms, which began with my “Capturing Friction” series. The concept of this series, however, is based on seeing images I see during the moments immediately before I am awake, while I am still dreaming. The subject matter of the works is informed by a wide range of brain waves, from a state of unconsciousness or deep sleep to a conscious state or complete awareness as well as a quest to find new combinations and ideas in the transitory moments between sleep and wakefulness. As for the composition of these works, I have drawn inspiration from the symmetry and patterns of Persian rugs.
